Silverado 2500 8-cyl Diesel

  • 123,000 miles
The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. The contact stated that he bought a titan replacement 52 gallon fuel tank (GM crew cab, short bed super series, part number: 7010211) (na) for the vehicle. The warranty lasted for five years. The contact stated that the support straps failed and the tank fell out of the vehicle while driving 20 mph. The contact re-strapped the tank and had the vehicle towed. The tank was leaking and the fuel pump and fuel lines were damaged. The titan manufacturer offered a small discount towards the repair cost of over $3,000 since the fuel tank was out of warranty. The dealer was not notified. The failure mileage was 123,000. The VIN was unknown. Consumer stated tank was installed in 2012. Updated 12/03/18

A year ago, I had to replace all of the major undercarriage lines after the transmission lines blew out. While having the transmission lines and brake lines replaced, I was told the fuel lines were split at the fire wall over the transmission and had to be replaced as well. It was @2K of an unexpected expense/upgrade.

The fuel light came on and has never turned off.. now we can't tell how much fuel the vehicle has, it doesnt show keeps saying low fuel even when its full. The gage that shows how much fuel it has is stuck on the empty side. I feel that this is dangerous because you don't know how much gas it has. Please check on others of the same problems on this vehicle types.
