The contact owns a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado. While driving approximately 55 mph, the contact noticed that the temperature gauge went to zero and the "engine hot ac turned off" warning indicator illuminated. The contact pulled over to the side of the road and then drove home. The contact stated that the failure occurred three other times. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the thermostat and sensor were replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 95,500.

I bought this vehicle used with about 66,000 miles on the odometer. Shortly thereafter, the check engine light came on, and I found an evaporative emissions code stored. I cleared the code and went about my business. Not long after, I went to fill the truck with fuel and gasoline spilled out from the top of the gas tank without coming up the filling neck. When I got around to taking the tank off the trunk to look for the cause of the issue, I found that the top plate of the fuel sending unit had rusted through and left an approximate 1" X 1/2" hole where fuel and vapor was able to escape. As far as I know, this was the original sending unit for the vehicle. I am replacing the unit with a delphi sending unit with a plastic top; hoping that this will prevent future leaks of this nature.

First time I got headache and dizzy in 5/28/2010 doctor put me in hospital over night and found nothing did not know it was carbon monoxide poisoning and to test blood. Had exhaust leak fixed by dealer ship on 7/02/2010 coworker said he could smell exhaust in cab that's why I took it in I could not smell it. I have had a lot of trouble with exhaust system filter light coming on with engine power reduced. Taking back to dealer ship. They said it needs to be put in regen mode manually, on 12/17 2012 is started to pass out on road doing 35mph started to loose vision, headache, dizzy felt like my heart pounding in my chest and that's not all more to list. But started go to doctors on my symptom's for over a month taking sick tome and vacation time. When I realized every time I got in my work truck it all started over again. So took back to dealer for exhaust leak and they said was leaking at turbo and down pipe. Said they fixed it by tightening clamp. Got down the hwy 15 miles and started happening again. I rolled the windows down and drove home blood pressure 170/110 that's another thing it does. My boss took it in to a diesel truck specialist and they said the down pipe is cracked and leaking and advised to fix or drive it with the windows done. They started to send in all our local trucks to get tested and we found 5 trucks leaking. I'm sure there are a lot more out there. We had another guy crash his truck from passing out at the wheel before I found the defect in the truck. Now the company knows why he crashed. This issue is in 2007 and 2008 models diesels.

The driver side exhaust manifold bolts broke off causing an exhaust leak. This is a serious safety issue causing exhaust gas to enter the cabin! exhaust bolts should not break off.

On highway trying to accelerate, I got a reduced power message and light on dash... which almost caused an accident. Contacted the dealership and they said bring it in. They replaced the mass air flow sensor. I have not got the message anymore but the truck does not accelerate like it use to. 2500hd duramax... I am afraid if the issue happens again all costs will be out of pocket for me. I just went over 38K miles.
