Driving on I10 heading to houston, the entire truck completely shut down, and then turned back on, this again happened 02/2014....the whole truck shut down, thank god the wheels did not lock up or we would have been killed both times. It is at the dealers...freedom Chevy san antonio tx....something is bad on the truck...like playing with a light switch...the dash, every instrument shut off both times, now I am worried that it will happen again, and I can not afford another truck. I thought that the 1st time was just a fluke, but when it did it again, I know now something is not right and is very dangerous for me and my little girl...please reply if a human really reads this.

Truck comes to scretching haltwith motor running but wont go, door locks and all gagues going up and down a 100 mile an hour. Sometimes everything dead and all of a sudden it comes back on. Air comes and goes. All lights flash. Those uprandom codes. No warning its going to happen. Radio will start playing very load cant shut off. When it does this it sometimes lunges forward aboit twenty feet and may run fine or do it again. Went to dealer truck stayed 2 months. Said they fixed. Few months later started again, next dealer said they couldnt find anything. Contacted GM on both incidents. Nothing happened.

I have a 2009 Chevy Silverado hd 4X4. I June of 2011 after owning the truck 1 month I began hearing a clunking noise that seems to be coming from the right front wheel area. After taking it to the dealership where they could not hear the noise or find the problem the noise has gotten worse and I can now feel it through the floor board. It is the end of July 2011 now and I wonder if im going to live every time I round a bend.

While driving normally (35-40 mph on a residential road) in dry conditions, the check engine light illuminates and the onboard error message reads "service traction control, service stabilitrak, engine power down." Consequently, the vehicle will not travel faster than approximately 40 mph and steering sharply becomes difficult. This error has occurred twice in the 11 weeks we have had our new 2009 Silverado 2500 hd. With the first repair (odometer 1101 miles), they could not find anything wrong with the truck. They just reset the computer. The second repair was 4 days ago (3948 miles). They found the "I/P to body harness connector corroded, cleaned the terminals, and applied dielectric grease." We are extremely fearful that this defect will occur again while we are towing a 5500 pound travel trailer. Without steering, stability and engine power a serious accident could occur. When my concerns were explained to the local GM dealership, the general manager stated that he could not guarantee that they could fix our truck or guarantee it would be safe to tow a trailer.

The contact owns a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 hd. The contact stated that while trying to depress the brake pedal to stop at a 4-way stop sign, the brakes applied "hard" as if he had made a panic stop. As he was leaving the 4-way stop and driving up a hill, he tried to turn the corner and had much difficulty doing so. He heard a popping sound and the difficulty continued. However, a short time later, the steering seemed to correct itself. The contact took the vehicle to the dealership but was told that there was nothing wrong with the vehicle. The contact felt that the power brake that was hooked to the power steering may have contributed to the failure and maybe the power steering pump may have been faulty. He had not called the manufacturer to-date. The vehicle had not been repaired at the time of the complaint. The current mileage was approximately 6,500. The failure mileage was approximately 6,400.
