Silverado 2500 Z71 6.6L Diesel

  • Automatic transmission
  • 1,400 miles

We are on vacation and had problem with our Avalanche. It had a new transmission, new back brakes put on and a used differential put on. Spent $10,000 on this vehicle. It was a 2007.

We got to Kearney Nebraska and started having more problems with it so decided to buy a new Silverado 2500 diesel at Mid Way Chevrolet, in Kearney Nebraska. The avalanche was having major problems pulling the 26 ft trailer. We think we are doing great until we get to Jackson, Wyoming with our new truck. The ABS brake light comes on, the other brake light comes on and we call Onstar which was a night mare also. Anyway, they run a diagnostic and tell us to pull over, we have a brake, ABS Brake problem and also a transmission problem. Now this truck is only 1 week old.. We get tow trucks to come and pick us up and we also have to hire a tow truck to tow our 26 ft trailer to a park which are all full by now. We manage to find a park which is very expensive right outside of Jackson. All this takes place on a Saturday of course so no one answers your call. They tow our truck to Teton Chevrolet and the next night mare begins. They won't even look at our truck till Tuesday they tell us, then they can't loan us a car because they claim to have none. We asked about reimbursements on all our meals, car rental, lodging and towing of the trailer. They give us a phone number and that took two hours on phone. After two hours all we get is an address, and someone that tells us they won't cover because we have to be 100 miles from home. Duh??? were on vacation. Then on top of that he transfers us to Canada. We got no where with calling. So here with sit, in a $90.00 a night RV park, paying for a rental car, out the $520.00 for towing of our trailer and out all our meals. So wanted to tell everyone when you buy a new Chevrolet or GMC please ask about their service. Especially when a vehicle is only 1 week old. And don't bother calling Mid Way Chevrolet in Kearney, Nebraska, its not their problem anymore.
