I am very OCD when it comes to my truck. I purchased it new in 2015. I maintain it like a diamond. I don't understand how a steering gear box can wear out at 35,000 miles. Truck does not go off road and I only tow a 2500lb trailer 4 times a year. Funny how this issue came about right after the warranty expired. All my other Chevy trucks in the past never had this kind of issue. These trucks have the steering box mounted over the front frame, so its a pain in the ass to remove if i had to do the job myself. Not sure who to trust - what would be the best way to approach this? I can not relate to spending $600.00-$1200.00 bucks, when after reviewing many complaints and seeing that GM won't step up to the plate and make this a recall.
