My truck has a major exhaust leak that flows into the cab of my truck. It has a duramax diesel engine. I noticed after I first bought the truck, so I thought it was normal and told my family members it was normal. 6 months after the purchase, I noticed that my sense of smell and taste was lacking. My doctors had no explanation on why I have lost my ability to smell. I drove 3 times in 2 years to seattle, wa and every time I arrived I was incapacitated. I has a sore throat, cough, and diarrhea for a week. After returning home on these trips, the same sickness had taken over my body. The dealership replaced an egr part and claimed the part was leaking and my problem was solved on 9/6/2018. I made one trip of six hundred miles 1 week after the repair and was so sick afterwards, I started looking for answers myself I bought a carbon monoxide detector and it starts beeping at 100 ppm within 2 minutes after starting my truck, and the detector starts beeping with my window down. Right now I am waiting for a call from my dealer to repair the problem, my truck has 58,000 miles, and I am afraid to drive it anywhere because my nose is still burning from driving 2 miles round trip to a local post office on 9/17/2018. I believe I am lucky to be alive and the leak is progressing immensely. I have all the CO2 and nox poison symptoms. There is a noxious smell, since CO2 is odorless, the smell is NO2 or nox. The problem is with the downpipe off the turbo and the flanges holding the parts together. I want someone to know about this problem before someone dies and it goes unnoticed, if it has not happened already. The problem is with the downpipe off the turbo and the flanges holding the parts together are defective. Since the parts are made in china, I was wondering how they could be defective. I don't believe a communist country would want to harm an american unnoticeably.
