When transiting between airport and home in very remote area in subzero temps the DEF warning system suddenly came on limiting vehicle speed progressively. No services were available both at this time of day and in this very remote area. There needs to be some way to override this system in the case of potential life and death. There were no warnings that this system was going to activate, it simply came on. The system had plenty of fluid but it appears the DEF heater failed. A vehicle should have an override for life and safety matters. Vehicle is going to a diesel mechanic for service now.

At about 62,000 miles the vehicle check engine light came on with codes P0700 and P0741, the RPMs go up as you accelerate but will not shift unless you let off the gas pedal. Reaching 5-6000 RPMs. Had mechanic drop transmission pan no metal found. Reading several TSBs on this issue the transmission should be recalled. Also when towing camper there was some electrical issues when the trailer was contacted the truck would not recognize trailer connected, had to shut the truck off for few minutes and restart to recognize the connection. Truck also lost power when trailer was connected and ran very sluggish, also experienced the shifting issues.

I was stopped at a stoplight, when the light turned green, I let off the brake and the truck took off at full throttle. I never even had time to touch the gas pedal, it went from 0 to 60 in less than 1/2 a block. I thought it may have been a cruise control issue and tried several times to turn it off, but didn't slow down one bit. When we got out of town, I let off the brakes and it continued to gain speed until we hit 75 mph. I again engaged the brakes, turned a corner to get off the road, and when I turned, the truck went back to normal. It was like a switch was turned off. The entire incident lasted about 5 minutes, but if we had snow or ice on the road as is usual this time of year, it surely would have resulted in a serious accident.

II took my 2017 1500 Silverado I purchased 11/2020 that had about 9500 miles to the Chevy service center and stated while driving my vehicle when coming to a stop during the 2-1 downshifting of the transmission a very loud clunking noise and at the same time it feels like something hit the rear of the vehicle. Upon starting from a stop sign or stop light the 1-2 shifting of the transmission makes the same loud clucking noise and it feels like something hit the vehicle was in the rear again. The Chevy service person stated that in the vehicles history, the prior owner had the factory update and reprogram the transmission to try to correct my current issues. I then left the dealership with the same issues prior to my visit. On 7/21/2020 I was having my vehicle serviced for a factory recall for the rear widow defrost. I stated again to the Chevy service about my continued transmission driveline clunking issues. According to my service paperwork the sevice tech stated the transmission is operating as normal, but attached to my service paperwork stating bulletin #pit5161G normal characteristic-bump feel or clunk noise after a stop {affecting GMC Chevy years 2007-2020 and also up dated # bulletin #99-04-002K information on driveline clunk {Oct 29 2019}. to date 9/17/2020 I am still having the same driving issues.

Transmission is faulty, has been to the dealer where I purchased several times, they flushed the trans 2 or 3 times then finally rebuilt the transmission with around 60,000 miles. Now I'm at 70,000 miles and having transmission problems again. It surges between gears, sometimes feels like I've been rear ended and sometimes seems to skip a gear and be in neutral for a few seconds before clucking into gear.

Wifi will continue to work for other devices. Voice commands work 80%ish of the time.

The transmission on this truck has not been right from the beginning. When starting in the morning it will do one of three things: Surges and transmission skips, hesitate and then race or jump ahead, or chunk and thunk like it really doesn't want to go to work and shifts hard when it does. I've noticed since the first month of owner ship back in 2018, that something was wrong with my transmission. I own a 2017 Chevy Silverado with the 8 speed transmission. Not only had it been discouraging, it's disturbing, and possibly even unsafe. From 1st to 2nd gear there is a hard shift in the transmission. And the same problem is from 2nd to 1st gear. The vehicle makes a loud clunk and it jerks simultaneously. The fact I spent $50,000 on this truck brand new and have got nowhere with the problem is outrageous. I always believe it is a safety concern, because the vehicle will move it radically. When I brought it to my dealership they said it was 'left in 4 wheel drive' ridiculous lies. And if that was the case why did they 'update the transmission computer.' Regardless, all of these problems from GM have been swept under the rug. The problem has never stopped. I've gotten replies from service representatives at the dealership saying 'they all do that' or 'it's fine' so tired of getting nowhere. GM should be replacing every single 8 speed transmission. I am worried that my transmission will fail at any time. New vehicles should not drive like this.

Transmission shudder at speed. Hard shifts at slow speed. Appears to be well documented across this site and other forums. It appears the oil used in the transmissions was defective (per Chevy). Tsb - 16-na-175 and tsb 18-na-355. Hopefully adding to the long list of complaints helps get Chevy to issue a "recall" or something similar to resolve the issue with the flush procedures or similar fixes.

I have taken it to the dealership and they tell me nothing is wrong. It happens every time I am going down a hill with the breaks applied and going at a slow speed. A 2017 Chevy Silverado with a 5.3L at 80000 miles the water pump went bad I had a 2006 same truck and it was 200000+.miles before I had to deal with this issue. I don't know if I'm the only one that had the water pump issue so soon or if this is a common problem with this truck that needs to be looked into, also excessive noises from the transmition when up or down shifting at low speeds and is like if struggled to down shift when you need it like when you need to pass a car in front of you most times you have to give it excessive throtle and only then it downshifts in a violent manner, again do not know if this is something that is only happening to me or if there is someone else out there with the same truck having similar issues, thanks.
