In 2024, I noticed that my truck was experiencing rough shifts. It felt as if the back wheels were jerking over uneven ground, even though the vehicle was on a flat surface. In November 2024, my sister sent me an article about General Motors' massive recall due to rear wheel lock-up, which increased the risk of crashes. I contacted GM and learned that my truck was part of the recall. I reported the issues my truck was exhibiting, and GM instructed me to reach out to my dealer about the problem. However, I was informed that they did not have the parts to fix the issue and had no idea when they would receive them. I asked GM if they would provide me with a rental vehicle, but they declined, stating that if they offered a rental to me, they would have to provide one for others as well, which was not feasible due to the large number of affected vehicles. I explained that my truck is my daily driver for work, and I frequently transport my grandchildren in it. Driving the truck was hazardous given the issues it was already exhibiting. I was told to contact my dealer, and since my truck was under warranty, they should provide me with a rental. When I requested to speak with a manager, I was informed that they would only reiterate the same information. I then contacted my dealer, Sapaugh GM Country, located at 1435 McNutt St., Herculaneum, MO. I was informed that they do not have the parts. but they did a minor tweak which has caused more damage to my powertrain and engine.

  • 67,000 miles
The contact owns a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. The contact stated that while driving at 55 MPH, the tachometer was operating erratically, after which the vehicle lost motive power. The contact was able to pull to the shoulder of the roadway, and after a visual inspection, the contact observed transmission fluid pooling underneath the vehicle. The service electric parking brake warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who determined that the transmission oil cooler line failed at the crimp and that a failure with the electric parking brake had caused abnormal wear and tear to the brake pads and rotors. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was then towed to another dealer, who confirmed the diagnosis, adding that the failure resulted in damage to the transmission, requiring a replacement of the transmission. The vehicle was repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to Customer Satisfaction Program: N212326940, but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 67,000.

The Transmission Oil Cooler line separated at the crimp joint from the rubber hose to metal pipe. This sprayed trans fluid all over my hot exhaust(fire risk) and caused and immediate loss of propulsion as I was accelerating to merge onto the highway. I was lucky enough to have multiple vehicles swerve to avoid hitting me. This defect left me on the side of the expressway.

Truck on its own Shift from Park to Drive on its own while at idle. Summary: My 2020 Silverado 2500HD was in the driveway idling in Park. The vehicle was empty and I was checking the garage for screws from a project I had just completed and I wanted to make sure they were all picked up before I parked the truck in the garage so that I did not get a flat tire. After looking for screws and assuring myself everything was cleaned I proceeded into the third bay of our garage and right behind me by an inch the truck proceeded into the garage at a good rate of speed and crashed into the house. I quickly ran through the third bay and to the vehicle as it was still wanting to proceed into the house. I quickly shifted it into Reverse from Drive backed up about 2 to 3 feet and placed the truck back into Park again and placed the emergency brake on and shut the truck off...
