Intermittently while driving at any speed and applying the brakes the rear brakes froze and wont release the brakes. Also, consumer indicated hada problem with the front brakes too.

When applying the brakes brake pedal went down to the floor, and the vehicle experienced extended stopping distance. The dealer informed the consumer that the problem was with the antilock braking system, but did not specify the components that needed to be replaced. Also, the vehicle was only using the front brakes for a period of time because the rear brakes stopped operating. The rear brakes were replaced.

Right rear brake does not release and it stays locked up after releasing brake pedal which is causing damage and tearing wheel/rotors and calipers. Consumer was told by dealer that pins are freezing up. Problem is common on 1/2 ton pickups, and 90% of time it is on right rear brake. Also, repairs would have been covered if vehicle had 40,000 miles on it.

Brake slack adjuster was designed to work wrong way, instead of tightening, is loosens brake line. Ttok vehicle to dealer who could not remedy problem.

The consumer is complaining of the design of the rear left emergency brake shoes and drum elbows, they allow road salt and other debris to get into the drum possibly causing them to fail. The consumer also states that the rear brakes are squealing due to the rust building up in the brake drum and shoes.
