"dash boards".... my 2000 Chevrolet Silverado dashboard is cracking and crumbling everyday. It is to the point now that I am adding duck tape just to keep it up. Chevrolet should take responsibility for this and repair my dashboard and issue a recall. This problem began 1 year ago, and I have never been in any accident with this truck.

On a snowy day going back home for lunch, I tried to stop at a 4 way stop but it took a little bit longer than I expected. First I thought it was because of the ABS engagement and road condition. But I felt something unusual, so I pressed the brake pedal after leaving the 4way stop around 30mph. Then the pedal started loosing back pressure and it went down to the floor before it stopped. I could come back home with lower gear down shifting and parking brake. When I checked the bottom of the vehicle, I found fluid leakage around the brake line on the floor.

I've noticed a number of recalls for my truck but I only received two (2) recall notices in the mail. One was for the front brake line and the other was for the straps for the tailgate. I am still waiting for the other notices to arrive. If they don't and something does happen causingi njury or death to myself and/or others the manufacter is going to have a really big law suit on their hands. It is not my job to find out about recalls it is yours and the manufacters job to notify me and others of these problems

Contact states: The throttle control closes. It was replaced when it first happened. The car had aprroximately 15000-20000 miles. The throttle control closes about every six months. This usually happens when trying to accelerate after foot is off the accelerator or a stop. When the vehicle is taken to the dealer Mr. Billy pays for it to be cleaned.

While driving at 10 mph the spare tire cable broke, causing the spare tire to fall of the spare tire holder. This could have potentially caused an accident if there was a vehicle driving behind the consumer's vehicle.

Had to replace rear U-joint. The dealer won't fix the slip yoke that has not been normal since they replaced the U-joint even though I've been there 3 times for that. My main complaint now is that the running lamps seem to go out too often.I see every other Silverado (& maybe Sierra?) on the road with one of them out!!! even though this doesn't cost that much, there should be a recall since there's thousands of GM pickups that have this problem. Thank you.

Cold, unheated, outside air leaks into the passenger side footwell when the truck is driven on cold days. This problem has been addressed by the dealer many times and they have made the situation better by wrapping foam around the heaterbox and airconditioning ductwork but your legs still get very cold on cold days whille setting on the passenger side. They've just told me that there is nothing else they can do unless GM sends them a redesigned/improved part that corrects the problem. I find it unacceptable that a $30,000 truck cannot provide a comfortable environment for its owners while driving down the highway on a cold night and it seems that GM may not be willing to do anything else about this. While discussing this issue with the dealer service tech. He mentioned that many of the Silverado, Tahoe and Yukon have this same problem and all the dealer can do is wrap the heater and ductwork with the foam as they've already done to mine until GM decides to actually fix the problem.

I have not experienced an actual failure of a Firestone tire; however I feared for my safety because my tires were made at the Decatur, il plant, the safety of steeltex R4S tires is now under scrutiny, and I have personally seen failures of two of the exact, same tire - one on a school van and the other on a rancher's pickup. It is highly probable that since the failures (tread separation and blowout) occurred in such a small town, they were not reported to NHTSA. I would not risk my safety, the safety of my family, or the safety of others on the road, so I replaced the Firestone tires at my own expense. I would not risk becoming another statistic while waiting for someone to determine that the Firestone steeltex R4S tires are unsafe. I believe that Firestone should reimburse me for at least a part of the expense of replacing their highly questionable tires. (your form asked for all the letters and numbers of the tire size, but does not provide space for them to all be entered. My tires size is LT245/75R16, load range E.) (dot number: VD11 B1C tiresize: 245/75R16)
