Letter from congressman perriello on behalf of constituent re safety defect in the electronics that control the seat movement in GM vehicles (dot/I#2010-2133) 2001 Chevrolet Silverado. The consumer stated when he attempted to move the seat forward or back after releasing the switch, the seat would continue to move all the way forward or all the way to the rear. Also, on occasion the seat moved back and forth on its own without activating the switch.

2001 Chevrolet Silverado. Consumer states difficulty with electronic seat mechanism. When the consumer attempted to move the seat forward or backwards, after releasing the switch, the seat would continue to move all the way forward or all the way back to the rear. Also, on occasion, it moved back and forth on it's own without actually activating switch.
