Anti lock occured on left front wheel causing right front wheel to lock and pull to right causing slide into pole and damage to front end. As vehicle is stopping ABS activates in any instance, vehicle pulls to right.disconnection of left front wheel sensor connector was neccessary to prevent reoccuring false activation.

Anti-lock brakes were engaging at low speeds on dry pavement, ie: Slowing down, stopping. Brakes failed at a low speed with a hard pedal. Ran into a building air conditioning unit causing minor damage. GMC removed, cleaned and lubricated the front speed sensors for the anti-lock brakes.

The antilock brakes activate at low speeds on my 2001 Chevrolet Silverado and I read an article in the newspaper that the NHTSA was looking into this. This has occurred many times and the worst was when I was travelling with my wife and daughter and came upon a stop light. I applied the brakes and was almost to a stop when the antilock brakes activated. Luckily there wasn't a vehicle ahead of me as I couldn't stop as I should have and ended up part way into the intersection. I plan on contacting my mechanic to see what is required to get this repaired.

At slow speeds when stopping the ABS engaged and the vehicle continued to go not stopping. A few times almost hit building, pole and a car (parking lot obstacles). Vehicle was take to taylor Chevrolet on 12/27/04 to be diagnosed. This resulted in replacing the left front hub assembly because sensor was defective and could not be cleaned or replaced. Cost of repair $463 with only 35,506 miles on the vehicle.

Anti lock brakes failure at low speeds. Changed wheel barrin with sencor in it, failed less than a year later. Bad brake calliber I was driving the truck I applied the brake and the bolt holding the calliber to the frame broke resulting in the wheel locking up.

ABS brakes are not working on my truck. Huge cost to fix them. Currently I have pulled the fuse on the ABS brakes. With only 60,000 miles I shouldn't have to spend over $1,000 to have brakes fixed. ABS brakes kick in on totally dry roads at slow conditions and cause you to possibly hit someone.

I have a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado. The ABS brakes sensors failed almost causing me to rearend a vehicle. There is a service bulletin to GM dealers on cleaning or replacing the sensors. My truck only has 38,000 miles and the dealer wants $140 to repair what I think is a defect in design or location of the sensor.

I recently came to a stop sign and could not stop the truck. As I crossed the intersection I thought I was going to die! fortunatly, the driver from the other vehicle was alert and avoided what could have been a serious situation. The ABS started to pulse under dry conditions when the truck slowed down to less than 5mph, but continued to roll for another 20-30 feet before it came to a stop. ABS should be a safety feature - not an unreliable device that can get someone killed. My truck is over 36,000 miles so it is no longer under warranty. I am told that it will cost somewhere between $500 -$1000 to fix, but there was no guarantee that this would not happen again. At this time I have pulled the ABS 60A fuse and I feel much safer without the GM ABS system. This is a serious GM problem and I can't believe that there isn't a fix, recall, or consumer notification. I won't believe this is the first time this has happen, since the service managers are familiar with this problem. After pulling the ABS fuse, I don't like the ABS and brake indicators lite up on my instrument panel. I would like to disable the ABS, so that the lights no longer light up on my panel. Can someone please send me instructions on how to disable the ABS properly.
