Silverado 3500

  • 105,000 miles
2001 Chevy Silverado diesel - doing 65 mph on the highway - motor starting skipping and then had a loss of power. Diesel fuel can be smelled. Pulled off highway and checked the truck. Diesel fuel was found blown all over the undercarriage including the exhaust. I was worried that the truck would catch on fire. Brought the truck to a Chevy dealer to get checked out and found out it was caused by faulty injectors that Chevy is aware of but if the truck is over 7 years old and is not covered by the "defective injector warranty". I don't understand how they issued a warranty on the part because they were aware that it was defective instead of having the part recalled.

Silverado 3500 8-cyl Diesel

  • 550 miles
The vehicle had a leak in the fuel return manifold on the right side. A leak in the fuel return manifold caused diesel fuel to enter the engine crank case. New seal retainers were installed, but the problem recurred (duromax engine). The consumer believes this is a safety problem.
