The contact owns a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 3500. While driving 65 mph the contact lost control of the steering, but was able to stop the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to, and currently remained at a local repair shop. The main bolt holding the steering assembly was sheared and diagnosed as the cause of failure. The contact has pictures. The current and failure mileage were 15000. Update 04/19/07

Silverado 3500

  • 28,000 miles
Consumer states while making a sharp turn consumer heard a clunking noise, and steering wheel became very loose. Took vehicle to dealer, dealer replaced the pitman arm, and idle arm. Shortly afterwars problem reoccured, and tie rods were replaced.
