The contact owns a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 with Michelin uniroyal tires, line size 265/75/R16. The contact was driving approximately 60 mph when the tread separated from the rear passenger tire. The failure caused damages to the rear passenger side quarter panel. The contact was advised by the manufacturer to report the failure to his insurance company. The tire was replaced and the vehicle was repaired. The failed tire was a replacement tire. The failure mileage was 78,347 and the approximate current mileage was 80,000.

The contact owns a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado. The vehicle was equipped with general tires, line size P245/70R17. The contact stated that the front driver side tire went flat. He purchased pennzoil fix a flat S455, 16 oz to repair the tire. The contact was attempting to fix the flat when the hose disconnected from the can. The contact stated that the plastic ring was fractured and the chemicals from the can released into his face. The contact sustained injuries to his lungs, both eyes and burns to the face. The contact stated that the bottle was not labeled in regards to wearing goggles or protection when using the product. He referenced NHTSA campaign id number: 99E007000 (tires) but had not contacted the manufacturer in regards to the recall. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was unknown and the current mileage was 54,000.

The contact owns a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 3500. While driving 5 mph, the power steering fails. The failure becomes more severe after the vehicle has been running for some time or during warm weather. The vehicle was taken to the dealer over ten times and they replaced the power steering pump and steering gear box. The contact was finally informed that the tires had insufficient air. The failures have not been corrected. The engine also overheats when driving uphill, pulling a trailer, and during warm weather. The dealer replaced the cooling fan and the intake system. The contact stated that there was a tsb (1980030) regarding the engine overheating. The current mileage was 21,500 and failure mileage was 1,613. Updated 3/4/08 updated 03/04/08

: the contact stated that the tread on all six tires was falling apart. There was visible chipping, cracking and holes. A service dealer was consulted, who offered to replace the worst one.

2005 Chevrolet crew cab 1/2 ton two wheel drive has had a vibration while driving and while braking since the first test drive. The salesman promised it was just the tires with flat spots and would go away. John keating Chevy. As changed the front rotors the back drums, two tires aligned the front end put in steering kit. The truck still has the vibration and now the front left and the rear brakes are locking up. If you brake hard the brakes skids on the left side. I have contacted customer service they will not return my calls. I was at the dealership on 2/21/06 I tried to talk the owner I left my name and I was there for 5 hours he never contacted me. I called him that night around 6:15 and spoke with him, he wants to ride in the truck, I called the next afternoon left my number and asked for appointment. I called again 2/23/06 around 2:00 again I left my number.

The contact owns a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado. The vehicle bounced as it went down the road at 50-65 mph. It has been doing this since the contact bought it new. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer will do anything. The contact took vehicle to 2 dealers, and they could not duplicate the problem. They could feel the bounce but "it wasn't that bad". overall truck drives like a dump truck. Front tires wore in less than 2500 miles. Dealer rotated the tires and a front end alignment and said "try that". owned a 2002 exact same truck and was a much better ride. Dealer told me " they made the seats more uncomfortable because people were falling asleep at the wheel" can U believe that.

The contact started having problems at 1,000 miles with the tires. The tires started feathering on the outside edges. At 2,700 miles the dealer replaced the front tires on 10-6-05. The rear tires also started to feather. The dealership refused to replace the rear tires under warranty. The front end alignment was performed at that time. In regard to the alignment, the camber, caster, toe in, and toe out were all determined out of adjustment on all four sides from the factory. This was determined by the dealership. After the new tires and the front end alignment was done the vehicle still pulled to the left extremely hard.

The tires are out of round and they make the vehicle shimmy. The GM dealers replaced two of the four tires already, but was, suppose to replace all four of the tires. Now the vehicle shimmies again. The dealer had the consumer come in on three different occasions to get information off the tires. Noticed happened on April 30, 2005, and it only has 4685 miles on it.
