The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado. The contact stated that the vehicle's low beam headlamps had a low projection distance and offered no visibility on the side of the vehicle. The failure occurred without warning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the failure could not be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact was advised by the manufacturer that the headlamps meet the NHTSA standards. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000. Updated 05/11/16 updated 05/17/16.

I have a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 hd ltz model. This vehicle has projector headlights for the low beam that ave very inadequate when trying to see in dark nights. The light output is very dim and the cutoff pattern is low causing poor visibility to almost zero visibility on wet roads or during rain. Using the fog lights does help, but also causes oncoming drivers to flash you due to extra lights turned on. I am really shocked as I have another vehicle with hid projector headlights and they are friendly to oncoming drivers as they are bright but the lighting pattern is low. The Chevrolet is not an hid light and it is not bright enough for the projector pattern. This is of great concern due to the lack of visibility when driving at night. Second issue - turn signals as viewed from the vehicle coming straight on. I have noticed looking at other Chevrolet Silverado's that when viewing the truck from the front, you can not see if the turn signals are on. Due to chrome on the front of the vehicle and the headlight - drl - you can not see the blinking turn signal from the front of the vehicle. So, someone could easily turn in front of or not see the truck is turning due to the inability to see the turn signal from the front.

When driving at night on any roads the visibility with the low beams is terrible! the high beams are what the low beams should be. It is very difficult to see anything in the distance or on the shoulder. I have bought Chevy vehicles for 44 years and am heading out to trade my 2015 Silverado in for a Dodge. It' S the safest thing I can do since Chevy says there is nothing that be done to fix this problem.

The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado. While driving at any speed, the headlights were dim and prevented the contact from seeing the road. The contact activated the high beam headlights, which were not bright enough either. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who stated that there was nothing wrong with the lights. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there was no recall. The failure was not remedied. The failure mileage was 700.

Purchased the 2015 Silverado 1500 new on 08/04/2015. Once I was able to use the headlights I noticed the lack of light output on them. I traded in a 2011 Kia sedona and the headlights were far superior to them. My 2006 Hyundai has better lights. Im not sure what can be done, dealer is aware of it and hopefully will fix soon.

Affects all current Chevrolet vehicles currently sold into the usa. Chevrolet has begun using the backup lamps (reverse lights) to illuminate the area around the vehicle even when the vehicle is off and not in reverse gear; typically when the driver is accessing & egressing the vehicle, or has actuated the door lock remote. The result is a vehicle appears to be reversing, or about to reverse, even though it's not capable of movement. Approaching vehicles assume the Chevrolet is about to move, yet are unable to verify the driver can see them and so can't proceed without escalating impact risk; those who do pass will Focus attention on the potential movement of the Chevrolet rather than scanning for general pedestrian traffic. In addition, use of backup lights in this manner can teach children to disregard backup lights as a potential movement indicator, and increases their chances of runover by walking behind a vehicle that is truly in reverse and about to move. According to FMVSS 108 the use of backup lamps shall comply with applicable sae standards such as: Sae J387 apr2014 3.4.1 backup function a lighting device used to provide illumination behind the vehicle and to provide a warning signal to pedestrians and other drivers when the vehicle is backing up (reversing) or is about to back up. 3.4.2 backup lamp(s) (reversing) lamp or lamps providing the backup function; more commonly referred to as a "reversing lamp" in ece regulations.(also listed as a road illumination device).

2500 hd truck is equipped with optional oem towing/camper side view mirrors equipped with red turn signals embedded in mirror glass. Red turn signal led's impair vision at night, and shine directly into drivers eyes, making it extremely difficult to see outside vehicle in direction of turn. The turn signal led's are manufactured without any sort of shielding coating in mirror glass which would reduce the brightness of the led's as is found in most other integrated side view mirror turn signals.
