I had the same exact problem. I took my car back to the dealership and found out that they forgot to put a cover over the foot AC vents while in production. Luckily we caught it early on or I would have been returning this vehicle because it would have mildewed and smelled like sh*t.

The guy at the dealership let me know that there are possible leaks which would have allowed the rain water to leak into my car and flood the passenger side. But a brand new car with leaks is not covered by warranty. It would cost over $100 just to do the leak test to find how the water is getting in and then who knows how much it would cost to repair. So now I am left with a smelly carpet, foam pad, that needs to be ripped out due to the smell. But I will be left w the cost of replacing!

This car is only 3 years old. Of course I have a problem with the car 6 months after the warranty expired. The car had a leak. When ever it rained, there would be water under the carpet. Turns out a seal has deteriorated. A 3 year old car! This is unacceptable. I can't believe I had to pay for this. The best part is, there was not cost for any parts. All $400 was toward labor. This car had a defect and I should not have to pay for it
Update from Sep 15, 2016: Car started leaking again!!! Same spot and everything. This has to be a manufactures defect. I took it to the dealer, they said, "Well, it has been raining pretty hard lately." Thats no excuse. My 2002 Nissan has never had this problem. They want me to pay for another leak test. I will not buy from chevy again.
