I will be taking the car back as soon as I can, this is the 2nd time I have complained about this squeek. It doesn't go away when the car is driven, even if it did it would be a deterrent if I was trying to sell it. Who wants a car with squeeky brakes.

Update from Aug 6, 2013: I have found out on another trip to the dealer that GM has a document, ID 3213219, that describes a rotational noise from the rear of the vehicle when braking. They state that I will be notified when there is a fix and it is not a safety issue and the noise is coming from the read drum brake area. This document is dated Nov 19, 2012.

Does any one know if there is an update to this document. I would like to sell the car but I don't think I would find a buyer if they knew it had this problem. I hate this noise.

Update from Sep 4, 2013: I have GM's word that the problem is being worked on, only their word because they refuse to send me a letter or email giving me a date of fix and the specifics on the re-design. . It seems that the rear brake drums must be re-designed. I don't know if they are having a recall or when mine is being fixed. They haven't said any thing about the safety issue but because it involves the brakes shouldn't it be. If you have a 2012 and maybe even a 2013, put the rear seats down and listen for the rotational noise, to bad if you hear it. My noise is getting quite loud and I can now hear it in areas with a lot of traffic, it only occurs when applying the brake. When I first heard it, it was when I applied my brakes in my quite mobile home park.
