Brought it from my grandfathers bff back in the day. Naturally I thought I was safe with the decision. A month later I complained to University KIA downtown Durham, NC that the car did not have a pick up. He said don't pay that no mind. It's a Chevy. Chevys horse power is not like a Kia or a Toyota. I didn't pay it no mind.

For the life of the car. 2.5 yrs I experienced over 2000 worth of work that needed to be done. One Tire KING in Burlington, NC explained these 2012 Chevy Sonics had a service bulletin. (Now a service bulletin is a report only mechanics get to compare problems they have with the same vehicle) This will narrow out whats wrong with the car. Again a mechanic said 21000 Chevy Sonics built that yr has a stalling when you drive on a highway. One reported death and the recall for this vehicle is out of this world.

So I called several Chevy dealers in the area and I was told that my particular vehicle was not covered on this recall. So I was back to square 1. driving a car with no warranty. And spending loads of money for repairs on this same problem.

Moral of story don't buy a 2012 Chevy sonic. There is a defect and your risking your life. Also I wrote the attorney general of Raleigh NC. I received a letter back from him and the dealership saying I brought a car without at warranty so shame on me. I will never buy another car without a warranty.
