Sonic 1.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 7,000 miles

Bought my car to save on fuel..I have a truck also which gets 14mpg.I bought the sonic in hopes to save on fuel. With a promise of close to 49mpg s. 4 months later I got maybe 21mpg,then it slowly went up to 27mpg..then stopped..All highway!!The gas tank is so small u have to fill up a lot more. The insulation of the tank must be crap. I CAN PARK ON A FULL TANK,when I get back in I lose 1 to 2 bars just from the heat or evaporation. Not happy!!

Sonic LT 1.8L V4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 5,000 miles

First noticed problem that the dashboard mpg average was higher than manual calculation in 6/13. Have kept record of difference each fill up since. Variance between dashboard & manual averages 5.6 mpg. Brought car to dealer & was told there was nothing that could be done. They told me that, contradictory to owners manual, the figure reported on dashboard only reflects the avg mpg for that MOMENT not the avg since last fill up. Called Chevrolet & they won't return calls.

Unleaded is what the auto calls for. Gas mileage poor. Tried 93 octane mileage improved.

Update from Jun 5, 2013: all issues resolved

Update from Sep 26, 2013: This time its the paint. Looks like it came out of paint and through clear coat. GM repaired it car had 8800 miles on it. GM used a 3 stage water paint job., I am wondering what dealer used. Car is ready and I will check for orange peel as well as match up with the rest of auto, After all it was the roof, and the color was an option.

Should have bought a Nissan or a Hyundai ! am ashamed to say cant the USA build a better car. Saying that some Nissans and Hyundai's. are made here in the USA .and they still build a very good automobile At this rate would love to say good bye to this Automobile, In my first reference to this car it was the gas mileage and it still is having to burn 93 octane to improve mileage to some degree.
