This Chevy 2013 Sonic... has been less than dependable, the service department, even worse, the department acts like * we don't want you to come in here" go away... we are so very busy, we don't even have time to change your oil... but hey, buy our product and tell your friends and family..
My keys are stuck in the ignition the SAFETY LOCK ON THE GEAR SHIFT IS PERMANENTLY PUSHED INTO THE SHIFT LEVER.. I break into my car or rather break out of my car every day.. I drive it...the air bag light stays on continuously... the covers for door latches fell off, the check engine light has never shut off.. since I bought it.. I have to call ON STAR TO GET AN ACCURATE MILEAGE EACH TIME ITS SERVICE.

My odometer was reading 49400 plus miles on 8/6 and 8/7 the odometer is blank. WTF?/Please don't say I should've got a extended warranty because that'd be $400 a a month and I pay $290 a month and my insurance is $127.11. So. Nope. I honestly haven't any other problems but this really burns my toast.

At around 38,000 miles the Odometer and Trip Meter on my 2013 Sonic stopped displaying numbers and instead shows just 3 dashes. Disconnecting the car's battery for 30 mins, reconnecting, and starting the car displays the mileage for a few seconds and then returns to the ---. Same happens when pulling the fuse for the gauge cluster; the mileage is displayed for a few seconds and then returns to the ---. Attempting to reset the Trip Meter results in the normal 'beep' but numbers are not displayed.
Brought the car to the dealership and since the vehicle is out of warranty they want a nonrefundable deposit of $700 just to diagnose, parts and labor would be an additional bill on top of that. Ridiculous. Since this is likely a computer issue it's beyond the scope of work that can be performed by my trusted local garage and as a result I have not had the issued corrected. This should be a GM recall.
