After finding yet another coolant leak on the Sonic, the fourth in two years, it was found that this time the thermostat housing had cracked. A replacement, including coolant and labor cost $378.45. Previously the thermostat housing gasket had been replaced by the dealer for leaking, causing a no heat condition the previous winter.

Sonic LT 1.8L

  • Automatic transmission

My engine( check light) never notified me when my car was leaking radiator fluid. This could of blown my engine and maybe started a fire putting my family in danger and others. If it wasn’t for the vapor coming out from my hood I won’t even have noticed until something bad happened.
