paint on hood and roof scratchy and dull paint on hood and roof scratchy and dull

I thought premature clear coat failure was a thing of the past. I guess I was wrong... Hood and roof will need to be repainted. The other issue is that it is very thin and does little to protect the paint from chipping...

GM - You have come a long way, but complete clear coat failure on an 8 yer old car? You can do better.

The paint clear coat is coming off the hood and the roof of my vehicle. I have always taken great care of my car - regular oil changes and maintained at the Chevy dealership - and noticed the paint clear coat or a dull patchy area showing up on my hood and roof of my car. So decided to research it a little more and found out that other people are having the same problem. I love my car and do not want this to be an issue later on with rust or resale of my vehicle or mar the Chevy name for bad paint - if that is the case, will they add it to the recall on paint jobs for the chevy truck recall on paint? Ideas? SAD - I LOVE MY CAR!!!
