I've been having leaking fluids for a few months, but only recently got it fixed. It turns out that it was leaking coolant. Some days it was just a drop, and other days it was a river. But I am very disappointed that I'm even having these problems in the first place when the car only has 71k miles on it.
This wasn't a lack of maintenance, this was a straight-up malfunction/break. I really do love that car, but that was just ridiculous. I had heard that some other Sonic owners had had similar issues with leaking coolants, water pumps, and thermostat housing. I'm adding my voice.
I have thus far spent somewhere between $600 and $700 fixing 2 coolant leaks that were very close to each other. First it was the thermostat housing, then it was some other pump that was right next to the original leak. I am very disappointed.
For sure, the next time something major happens, I'm trading it in. If things are already breaking at only 71k miles, I hate to imagine what it will be like at 100k and beyond.
And I bought my vehicle as a GM Certified Pre-Owned vehicle too. I expected to get more trouble-free miles out of it.
