The booster on the power brakes went out. Pedal traveled 3/4 of the way to floor. Would push hard on pedal to get brakes to work. Taking vehicle to dealer to have it repaired.

Brake hissing noise heard when pedal applied. Pedal low. Fluid leaking small amount. Chevy service misdiagnosed problem. Replaced master cylinder and installed new shoes. Brakes still hissed. A different service center correctly identified problem as brake booster and replaced at cost of $300. Total amount spent was over $1,000.
