Suburban 4WD 8-cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 75,000 miles
The contact stated there was a problem with the ABS and the wiring harness. When driving less than 10 mph and applying the brakes the ABS activated. The contact's husband replaced the brake pads at least six times. Before the wiring harness burned the dashboard was hot. The dashboard lights, tail lights, headlights, and cruise control were not working.

This is the third time I have replaced the brake pads and this time I had to replace the right front rotor due to warping. The brakes on this vehicle are grossly undersized and Chevrolet knows this. That is why the brakes on the new 2003 Suburban are larger even though the vehicle is several hundred pounds lighter than this model. I had intended to keep this car for at least 6 or 7 years but must now give it up because I am worried the brakes will fail all together. Also, the seat heaters on both front seats quit working after the first year and wouldn't be replaced by the dealer.
