Why the oil consumption suddenly went from nil to a quart every 400 miles is beyond me. We baby our cars and maintain them regularly. The Suburban now has over 200K on the engine and it still performs well, but its gotten noisier over the years and continues to burn oil. We don't drive it as much these days, hoping it will last us another 50K miles and continue to monitor the oil level.
