When driving 40 mph vehicle accelrated and the steering wheel locked up. Consumer was able to stop the vehicle, and consumer had the vehicle towed to the dealership for inspection. Mechanic was unable to duplicate the problem.

Consumer states the engine speed does not return to idle when the accelerator is released, the vehicle will go 20 to 30 miles per hour on its own, the problem is more persistant when the weather is warm/hot, consumer reported the problem on several occasions only to be told there were no codes stored, finally the manager of the dealership drove the vehicle and determined the problem was a bad idle solenoid, they replaced it and that fixed the problem for about a year, the problem has reoccured and the vehicle is now out of warranty and it continues to run about 1000 RPM for a time after releasing from the accelerator.

Vehicle was parked and running inside of garage. Heard a noise and engine roared up, and vehicle took off and went though consumer's living room and kitchen. Dealership was aware of problem.

When accelerating engine did not return to a normal level. It suppose to return to 800 rpms, instead it hung up at about 700 rpms also, it did this at highway speed. Consumer has contacted dealer, and dealer reset computer and cleaned carbon. However, problem kept returning. This was dangerous because when accelerating and taking foot off of gas pedal vehicle did not slowdown, it stayed right at that speed.

Consumer's wife was pulling inside of a parking space and engine surged while foot was on brake. Surburban jumped curbe and hit a tree. Dealership was aware of problem. There were no injuries. The mechanic stated the problem was caused by throttle sensor failure.
