I have a 2000 Chevy Suburban and a 1999 GMC Sierra truck both vehicles have problems with the door handles not coming back to the proper position to latch properly without manually pushing them in after you close the door. This has caused my doors to open and almost having one of my children fall out while going down the road. This is a problem that has been ongoing since I bought the vehicles. The door handles stay in the out position when closed instead of being pulled into the door handle and latching. It also prevents a person from getting out of the car if the door does latch they need to roll the window down to push the handle in or have somebody else push the handle in so you can unlock the door.

The lock actuator on the door broke and my wife was unable to open the door and get out of the vehicle. After discussing this issue with the service manager it was brought to my attention that this problem is not an isolated one but has occurred in many Chevy surburbans. I believe that this type of problem is a safety issue in that someone could get trapped in the car.
