Fuel leak with full tank on level ground. Appears similar to defect summary EA04026. Vehicle had had fuel sensor replaced 06/2002 at 36000 miles for sporadic fuel gage / temp gage failures. Expect this is caused by the melted electrical terminals at pump module. Possibly related to sensor replacement. Does not leak on level after driving 10 miles after fillup, but will leak if pointed down hill - very noticeable fuel leak. Certainly a fire hazard. Have talked with Chevrolet 1-800-222-1020. They acknowledge the "engineering analysis" but will not authorize footing the bill for repairs.

Consumer stated fuel gage was not working properly. Sometimes when filling vehicle up, fuel gage showed empty. At other times when the vehicle was empty the fuel gauge showed full. Also, it was hard to tell when vehicle needed fuel. Consumer had spoken with other Suburban owners and they were having the same problem. Consumer felt this is was a design defect with these vehicles.

Whenever brakes are in use vehicle can slow up, but fails to stop right away. Stopping distance is increased. Had hit a wall & a fence due to a lack of braking power. Vehicle equipped with ABS which was not the problem. Brake pedal went to the floor. Also, parking brake went to floor. Taken vehicle to dealership at least 6 or 7 times. Now pursuing the lemon law. Battery failed. Vehicle stalled. Exhaust leaks and is loud. Air comes through the center vent when the floor control is on. 4-wheel drive would not engage due to a short in the module. Fuel sending unit was replaced.
