Another GM problem that apparently has been around for a while is the drivetrain slack or backlash. It is caused (so says GM) by necessary clearances between moving components in the drivetrain. I experience a loud bang when I put the vehicle in Drive or Reverse from Park. It sounds like the U-joints going out but they are brand new. GM says clearances between gears in Differential, Transmission, Transfer Case, Front Differential, is why the compound effect is so severe. The whole drive train feels lose and the banging continues ever so slightly even when driving. Tap the gas going about 20 to 30 MPH and you'll probably feel it. No known fix.
