When the consumer attempted to accelerate from a stop, the accelerator pedal became stuck. The consumer had to use excessive force. The cause was not determined.

While vehicle was parked with engine running for 15 minutes and when attempting to drive consumer noticed that the accelerator pedal was stuck. This happened intermittently, usually the longer the vehicle sat.

My accelerator keeps sticking on my 2001 Chevrolet Suburban. I feel like this is going to cause an accident. I have talked to the fleet maintenance people here at my work and they have had the same problem with other Chevrolet fleet vehicles. Please please check into this it is going to cause someone to lose their life!

While driving, the accelerator became stuck which was caused by an accelerator cable failure. The parts were replaced. The accelerator would also stick when stopped. The pressure must be applied to the gas pedal until it suddenly released and caused the vehicle to lurch forward. The consumer also experienced the same problem with his 2000 Suburban. The consumer was informed by several garages it was a common problem from the 1999's on up with Chevrolet; GMC, Suburban, Tahoe, and pick up's.
