I know and understand all of us have "Chevy" problems, but still own America's best running trucks.I will never stop owning a Chevy cuz all vehicles have some sort of as problem at one time or another.being that i've worked @ most of the aftermarket parts places on the West Coast the Japanese cars are very expensive on starters and alternators and the Europens are waaaaayyyyy to much.If you take the last 8 numbers of your (vin #) vehicle identification number witch is located on the drivers side of the dashboard by the windshield and call a Chevy dealer they can tell you if you have any recalls and will fix them for free.Plus give you a ride to work and back.I.ve done this for my fuel pump wire harness, and still call every month.I will agree will most of you though, the U.S needs to step it up on cars when they feel so proud about "MADE IN AMERICA"

There have been problems with fuel pump failure and overheating that have lead to fires. Mine was not so severe, but is definitely a problem. The fuel pump makes such a high pitched noise that it interferes with radio reception when idling. I had the recall of the fuel pump harness done and was told such noise was not indicative of fuel pump failure and that it was normal and caused by the high pressure required by modern motors. My 00 Ford truck did not make this noise, what gives.

After replacing the transmission 5k ago, this new expensive problem sucks. We are not impressed with Chevy and will be buying Toyota next time.

It's been a bad 100K miles. First my ABS system went, then my fuel pump just crapped out.
