I found the answer to my ABS module issue on this website! I had a feeling that could be the problem as the ABS light has lit up a few times over the last few years. It will be lit up for a few days then it would shut off. The light recently came on again and today the ABS pump kept running after the key was shut off. My wife was freaking out! I pulled the fuse and now I need to find out where to send the ABS module to be rebuilt. Any recommendations?
thanks!!

I have a 2002 Chevy Suburban - I had the ABS system replaced in 2005 to have it break down again in 2008. The dealer's service department says that there is no recall on it because they haven't heard sufficient consumer complaints to warrant a recall!
Further, I called Chevrolet's/GMC's service department and they said that they don't read Internet complaint boards. All complaints have to be directed straight to Chevy's customer service department in order to be input into a "complaint database", then they determine if they have received enough complaints to merit a recall - per industry standards.
If anyone out there has been having issues with their ABS (Antilock break system) please call the following number and state your complain - 1-800-222-1020 (Chevrolet€™s Consumer Dept.) and report your ABS problem.
They have to report your issue and make a log of it. If they have enough consumers with the same problem then they issue a recall.
Till then, consumers like you and I have to continue to pay auto mechanics ~$1,200.00 to repair the ABS system every 3 years - no lie in my case.

Wife said ABS light lit up on her way to work. She turned the car off and noticed there was "something" still running. Called dealer service and they said to pull ABS fuse so car battery would not die. They said she would have brakes, but not ABS brakes. Dealer quoted her $1,400 to fix. Saw this web site and noticed there are people that rebuild ABS modules for $150. Does anyone have someone they can recommend?

I may not have ABS, but I've got brakes. So, for right now, it's not worth the $1000+ that I've been quoted to get this fixed.

Its ridiculous that such a small problem will cost almost $2000 to fix b/c there has to be a new ABS box purchased and all of the accessories to install it. When we unplugged it the light stays lit up on my dash board which is annoying as hell!!!!
