The hoist failed to lower on the side of the road. So I had to go to a tire store to have flat tire fixed. When I got home I had to cut the cable to lower the spare tire. I now have no way of mounting spare tire to truck. This is a poorly designed devise. GM should warrant all hoists with an engineered solution. The current design was not engineered and never used by a GM exec other wise it would have been fixed. GM should use there own procedure...Drill Deep and Wide to Root Cause this issue.
