About These NHTSA Complaints:
The NHTSA is the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints can be spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem. See the Back button — blue bar at the very top of the page — to explore more.
The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Suburban. The contact stated that the 4-wheel drive shift indicator reached temperatures in excess of 100 degrees and could cause a burn to the touch. The manufacturer and a Chevrolet dealer were aware, and stated that this was normal and there was nothing to repair. The 4-wheel drive indicator was always heated, and the car had a burning smell because of it and got worse while driving.
