Suburban 5.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 180,000 miles

This is not the first problem that I have had with this vehicle. It is one of many and it all has to do with oil function and consumption. After many months of calling and complaining, GM did fix the oil leak. But it still has many issues.

I am tired of having to call and deal with this, complaining to someone in another country. They can't get me to the people that I would need to speak to to fix the problems, not that GM is trying to help us. It is obvious that GM is not taking action for a problem that many owners are having. I don't have the luxury of being able to buy or even trade out of this car at this time.

I would like to know if anyone has started a class action suit for these issues that GM does not want to say is a major problem with this model vehicle.

Suburban LT 5.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 116,167 miles

I too own a 07 lt 4wd. Brought it used w/79k, it now has 116k. Low pressure warning came on. Started skipping, had it checked and found out camshaft was worn out. After doing my research with multiple GM service tech I found that this model, with about same miles with the 5.3L engine W/ active fuel management, are rolling into the dealership daily with worn CAMSHAFTS and needing new engines. I know GM has a reoccurring problem with this engine.

I am a loyal GM customer but that s!!t is about to change.
