Suburban

Bought 2013 suburban brand new and in 2018, on a trip to the mountains for fall break, the car quit with no warning signs, in the middle of the night. The car would not accelerate when gas pedal was pressed and RPM gauge needle -??fluctuated erratically-?? until car came to a complete stop in the middle of the highway! It was a scary and dangerous situation because it was late at night and we were in the mountains with no phone signal. Cars were coming and going both ways on Highway. Eventually people stopped to help us get suburban towed to local Chevrolet dealership and we had to rent a vehicle to get us to where we were initially going to start our fall break. The dealership called a day later to tell us that there were -??lose metal pieces-?? in the transmission, which meant the transmission had to be replaced. We spent $5000 on that new transmission! It was the only way for us to come back home. The car was out of warranty therefore, the manufacturer did not offer any help! This was a very expensive, frustrating, and dangerous fall break in 2018. Please help! We deserve reimbursement because 7 years later, we bought another 2020 Suburban, also brand new and the same thing happened to transmission, last week! We spent $6000 to replace that transmission!

On 12/08/2018, the vehicle stalled while in motion on street pulling out of driveway and traveling on the highway. Then the dasboard and entire electronical starts to shut down and truck starts jurking losing more power. Then the traction and stabilizers are deactivated. After the truck is park it will not remote start or start with the key until after a couple of hours. The A/C deactivated with a message saying that the engine is to hot. The problems started back in 06/2018 happen on a frequency of 3 to 4 times a month.

The vehicle was in cruise control at 75 mph. While trying to switch lanes and disable the cruise control with the brake pedal the vehicle accelerated. We were unable to slow the vehicle as it reached a speed of 115 mph. Driver put both feet on the brake pedal as we tried to slow the vehicle for just approximately 10 minutes while weaving in highway traffic. The vehicle suddenly stopped and slowed.

When braking or slowing down this Suburban acts like it wants to keep going, like a jerking motion forward and back, making the stop hard, as if it is trying to accelerate and brake at the very same time, because the rpms are constantly moving up and down switching from V4 to V8 mode. Going down hills and going up an short inclines the vehicle does the same jerking motion, forward and back until I come to a complete stop. When taking off and keeping a low speed under 35 mph the vehicle cannot maintain the speed, it acts like it wants to stop ( it never has died) but I have to punch the accelerator to get the vehicle to pick up its speed again. While I was in a school pick up line just coasting along around 10 mph, my foot was not on the accelerator or brake and the vehicle moved forward on its own. The issues seem to all happen at a low speed, from 0-40mph. I have taken this vehicle in to the Chevrolet dealership on several occasions for the same issues as I have described above. Each time they are unable to duplicate the issue. My biggest aggravation is that this vehicle does not do this every time I drive it, which makes it difficult to be duplicated. I am concerned that when I am coming to a stop that the vehicle will not stop and rear end another vehicle. This issue started around 2000 miles and has continued to this day, currently this vehicle has 7500 miles on it.
