This $70000 vehicle's navigation is no longer working. The navigation has me somewhere in Mexico and it will not reset. There is a red X through the GPS on the display screen. I took it to the dealer and of course it was just out of warranty and they told me it would cost about $100 to determine what the problem is. The service adviser told me that the navigation probably needs to be updated for around $200. I asked him why this would be necessary as the car was only about a year and half old and he advised that it will probably have to be updated several times over the years (like every 18 months). Not sure what is going on. He also said that the GPS receiver could be bad which runs into a whole lot of money to replace. I have had navigation systems on all of my Ford Expeditions in the past and I never had a problem with them. As much as they charge for this item it should last longer than this. Thinking about going back to a Ford where things worked better and longer.
