Purchased a 2015 Suburban new from jim ellis Chevrolet. At about year 3 of ownership, just after warranty expiration, I noticed moisture in drivers side headlight assembly. About a year later the blinker stopped working. The only way to repair it is to install an entire new assembly. The part is $1,200 alone. The is not a warranty issue, but a defect that Chevy will not address or admit. It is also a major safety issue. Additionally, the paint on the hood and roof started failing at about year 4. again, another defect. Chevrolet will not address either of them. One is a safety issue, the other cosmetic. Very frustrated.

On very random but numerous occasions beginning years ago, the liftgate will it will close on its own or it will not open at all. The liftgate is either opened remotely by key fob, interior button or by using the button on the liftgate handle. As the liftgate opens to it's open position, it has on some occasions sounded the warning signal indicating the liftgate is closing while loading or unloading items and on other occasions the liftgate automatically closes on its own, very abruptly, without any warning signal. Both types of instances have occurred while being under the liftgate causing me to be struck and hurt. Recently (Aug '20), it occurred while having my tire changed by a service provider who was also struck. I have looked into this concern online and have noticed quite a few complaints by 2015 GM owners over this same issue. I also found that there were 17 bulletins in 18 months from April 2014- Oct 2015 regarding liftgate issues for this same year model, including a recall that was mentioned on a GM forum (recall #14300"??"). this is a tragedy waiting to happen to someone if it hasn't already! the liftgate is very heavy and the first time it fell on me, it did leave abrasions and contusions. I was 125 lbs. Someone half my weight would never withstand that impact! I would never have anyone else go near this liftgate to load/unload my vehicle as it is a serious liability! please do something about this! all occurrences obviously happened while the vehicle was stationery, at times with the car idoling in the parked position but mostly after the engine was turned off. The ground level didn't seem to affect it one way or another. It has happened on flat ground and on a slopes driveway. ***please note I have 2 videos from the most recent occurrence (9/20/20) that I am not able to attach but will provide.if necessary***

While driving above 70 mph, the vehicle begins to have vibrations. Have taken our Suburban in for multiple repairs but their reasoning was the vehicle and tires were not balanced however after replacing the tires and getting a road forced balance it did not resolve the issue. It does not feel safe to drive above 70mph.

When driving on the highway, the door locks will unlock by themselves. Sometimes all of the doors unlock, sometimes just one or two doors. We have heard the sound of unlocking doors several times in the past as we drove. On August 22, we heard the unlocking sound, and then observed the doors unlocking. After relocking the doors, the incident happened several more times. This can be very dangerous!

Front drive applique came loose from the car, while driving on a highway. The adhesive wore out and created an issue with expanded blind spot and part potentially falling off the vehicle. I first taped it back and then glued it temporarily. When I took my vehicle in for service, the dealer noted that all panels were faulty and needed to be replace. I notified Chevy about this issue, as it appears to be a manufacturing defect.

The paint (black) on the roof cracked and turned white like spider webbing. Chevrolet pointed the roof I had to part 65 % and they paid the rest. Now the same thing is happening on the hood. I was told its because of the sun and heat. I don't believe so, because the rest if the vehicle sits in the sun daily and the paint is fine. The vehicle is garage kept at night. I have a 2013 F-150 that sits in the sun all day and in not garage kept and the paint is still like new. There has to be something wrong with the paint or prep job was not done properly.

All of the window pillars have broken and/or come loose, dues to a manufacturing problem with the clips used. The roof rack rail also flies up while your driving and smacks the roof because of the faulty clips. I also noticed a water leak on the headliner (see attached picture) after it had rained one day. My Suburban was parked outside and I noticed the leak when I got into the car. My seat belts were also wet from the leak. This seems to be a common occurrence and issue with other 2015 Suburban owners and is a safety hazard, especially if the wiring sits in the water. I had taken it in to a Chevy dealer to get it checked out, but I will have to pay to replace everything needed. If these issues are manufacturing errors and such a common occurrence, why should I have to pay to fix them" and more importantly, why is there no recall on them"

When traveling at interstate highway speeds vehicle had shaking, shimmying, vibration and buffeting as well as loud hum and wind noise causing nausea resulting in nausea and dizziness to the driver. This was worse on new macadam and on grooved highway but occurred intermittently on other surfaces, I just purchased this vehicle used and it is certified. I was unaware that this is a common issue and understand now that there is no recall to fix this and that GM has not found a permanent solution to the problem. The vehicle was also exhausting to drive on the highway because of the aforementioned issues.

In March of 2017, I noticed that the paint on the hood and roof was starting to discolor very badly. I went to selman Chevrolet in orange ca where I purchased the vehicle new to show them. I was told that something must have gotten on the paint. I told them that was not the case since I clean cars myself. Car is now really getting worse. I believe that a car as new as mine and with the good care as it has received could only be due to defective paint.

Was driving at highway speed and heard a pop from behind driver. Started hearing a flapping sound and found the drivers pillar cover had come loose at the top. Would not snap back so secured with duct tape as so not to lose the part. Later the same day found 2 other were loose so secured them so as not to have them come off. Have researched this and found many others have had the same problem. Many have said that if under warranty they were fixed but only to have the problem occur again. Have 45,000 miles on vehicle when this occurred so not under warranty. Will confront the dealer just to see if they admit to no good fix and thinking this is just the owners problem. Hard to believe this happens on a $70,000 car.

The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Suburban. While driving various speeds, the exterior window panels failed on the front passenger and driver side doors. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that this was the third time the failure occurred and the panels needed to be replaced. The first two times they were replaced under warranty; however, the manufacturer declined to repair the last failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 25,000.
