The # 7 cylinder valve lifter in the 2015 Suburban engine fails when accelerating in certain situations. This has happened to this vehicle twice at and expense of rebuilding the engine. The in both cases the vehicle was accelerating into fast moving traffic. When the lifter fails the engine loses power and no longer accelerates which requires swerving out of traffic, back to the shoulder to not get rear-ended by on-coming traffic. The problem was confirmed and the service provided indicated that this was a significant issue with this particular engine. Basically, it happens to many of these vehicles. The engine has been rebuilt twice while I have owned it. When the lifter fails the check engine light comes on. These failures occurred on September 24, 2021 and again on September 9, 2023.

Purchased vehicle in March 2020, have had 4 instances of making a left hand turn and vehicle shuts off. Have read that steering assist recall was done, but from what I've read this is exactly what it is doing, low speed and making a turn. Any suggestions or have others experienced same? date is last time but has happened about 4X S now since last summer.

Driving today in snow, increased electrical demand on vehicle while accelerating. Smelled burning wires and all dash lights flickered then died. Engine turned off and had to be restarted with the push button. Happened within 30 minutes later while accelerating onto a main road with traffic, lost control of vehicle and had to force the steering wheel to turn the vehicle off the road to avoid being hit by oncoming traffic.

Oil pressure, temp, tac, speedometer, gauges fluctuating, while many failures flash on the driver info center screen, audio warnings also.engine revs and power steering fails. This has happened in all driving conditions, stopped, city, country, highway roads. This has happened about four times, and we have it at a dealer now for the third time. The first dealer could not duplicate the problem. Second dealer said the problem was a steering lock control module and replaced it, the third dealer is still working on it. The loss of power steering, making the car very hard to steer is what has prompted me to make this report. This happened for the first time, August 13, 2019 and the last time, January 29, 2020

Vehicle loses braking capability at low speeds, sometimes voltage issues cause stability control error, and even complete loss of engine power and vehicle control (engine shutoff). This has been recurring approximately once per day for two weeks, generally at very low speeds and turning into a parking spot. Typically, ABS engage and power brake assist is lost, which requires more more effort to stop the vehicle. Can also happen in reverse.

The 2015 Chevrolet Suburban that I drive power goes out when I am turning into a parking space, making a sharp turn, and try to come to a quick stop. This happens every time I am driving. It also delays to turn off when I am parked. It sounds like it's trying to crank up on a low gas level. Sometimes when I am at a light and try to press on the gas, it stalls like it's trying to get gas.

While driving straight on the highway in cool, dry conditions, the check engine light began flashing. The engine began stuttering/bucking and lost power. Dealer advised that it was lifter failure requiring $5K repair not under warranty. Despite the repair, the issue has returned twice requiring additional repairs.

At low speed (backing into a parking spot on the street) the brake pedal got very hard and the vehicle would barely stop. I then did not go into that space to avoid hitting the car behind me. I pulled into a parking lot across the street. When backing in, I could not stop (moving with car at idle engine speed). The hitch hit the concrete wall-happily no damage done. With research, I find this is a common problem that GM has not addressed. I usually occurs at slow speeds or stop and go slow speed traffic. This is unpredictable and very unsafe. The vehicle is a 2015 with only 35,000 miles. The vacuum pump (the failure) is bolted to the engine and engine-driven and lubricated by engine oil which puts my engine at risk. Yet none of this is covered by the power train warranty. This is not a slow, but a sudden failure item. Very unsafe if it happens in school parking lot picking up my children, church, close spaces (neighborhoods, parking areas).
