Suburban LTZ V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 113,000 miles

My wife was heading to the windshield replacement shop. She called me saying she smelt gasoline, so I told her to pull over rightaway on the side of the highway and turn the car off. I went and met her within 15 minutes - I got my family in my truck. I started the car and it was hard to start and you could smell the fumes. So I called a tow truck to haul the suburban to our shop.

I am fixing this and won't buy another GM. We had several other issues from factory A/C condenser leaking, and two pair of magnetic control ride shocks going out. But this has to do with the safety of my kids. We are fixing this and heading to dealership. GM doesn't care about my families safety. I don't care to buy from GM.

Suburban LTZ 5.3L

I felt a shutter time to time at start up, and would feel like the wheel would grip on hard turns backing up. Was like this for a couple of days. Filled tank & drove out of town. Once at destination noticed leakage under car, under driver seat. Thought it might be condensation. Vehicle sat for 2 hrs., no leakage visible at start up. After starting vehicle notice leakage began again and this time at a larger volume. Could smell the fuel.

Called dealership they picked it up on tow truck, when back end was lifted, a significant amount poured out from under car. Was told that the fuel hose/fuel pump has the cause due to rubbing. First 3 weeks was told part was on back order, then that it was going to become a recall and that the part needed to be redesigned and that there was no immediate time frame for vehicle return. I have been driving a dealership loaner for 2 months now. Dealership asked if they can "craft" a patch to get my vehicle out of the shop. I denied this, considering I don't know what the legalities will be.

Very disappointed in Chevy, this is my 3rd Suburban/Tahoe and I'm considering filing lemon law.
