problem #1

Suburban Premire 5.3L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 123,000 miles

Developed shuttering and vibrating. Thought it was front end at first. Mechanic said it was torque converter.

Went to Transmission shop. Said they need to rebuild transmission and replace torque converter. I thought it would be worth it once its fixed. 3 months later the problem comes back. They flush system, 3 months later it comes back again. They say its a bad torque converter. I have another installed. it works for about another 3 months. Then it comes back again. Now they say the metal in the transmission or torque converter is too thin. fluid issues. IDK. they want another 500 buck to flush system. not sure if its the torque converter, the transmission, or the mechanics.

Any advice is much appreciated.
