The contact owns a 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that while driving approximately 55 mph, the cruise control engaged automatically. The speed of the vehicle increased and the contact was unable to stop the vehicle. The contact merged to the shoulder of the road, powered off and restarted the vehicle. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer for a diagnostic test. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure and current mileage was 83,978.

When applying the brakes at low speeds the ABS kicks in making the vehicle shutter to a stop which makes the vehicle unable to stop right away.

The vehicle speed control failed. When starting vehicle had to apply additional pressure on the accelator, it seemed to be stuck. This only happened when putting the vehicle in park or reverse. This started happening on December 12, 2005. Dealer did look at vehicle but they were going to charge consumer for repairs. Is an NHTSA action investigation EA02015 dealt with the same problem.
