I took my vehicle for a 90,000 mile service call. The dealership did not make the recommended adjustments which are on recall then, or on a subsequent scheduled appointment. Make / models : model/build years: Chevrolet / Suburban 2000-2001 Chevrolet / Tahoe 2000-2001 GMC / Yukon 2000-2001 GMC / Yukon XL 2000-2001 type: Truck recall number: 00V343000 summary: Vehicle description: Light duty pickup trucks and sport utility vehicles. Some of these vehicles have loose or missing rear wheel house plugs. Under certain vehicle operating conditions, exhaust gases can flow forward and accumulate in the rear wheelhouse. Consequence: These gases could flow into the passenger compartment if the plug is missing or loose and could cause possible illness, unconsciousness, or death. Remedy: Dealers will inspect the vehicle for loose or missing wheelhouse plugs and install new plugs if necessary. Notes: Owner notification began November 16, 2000. Owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact Chevrolet at 1-800-222-1020 or GMC at 1-800-462-8782. Also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's auto safety hotline at 1-888-dash-2-dot (1-888-327-4236).
