Tahoe LS 4.8L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 65,000 miles

I bought a 2003 Chevy Tahoe from a Chevy Dealership and three days later it decided not to start while I am on a date. I had someone jump my Tahoe and then it started but then it wouldn't let me go over 20 MPH. Oh I was pissed and luckily my date was cool about it. I took her home and she said, "well I'd invite you up to my apartment but your truck probably wouldn't start again if you turn it off". This was the first time I have been "blocked" by my own vehicle and it was horrible. Next day it wouldn't start so I had my friend jump it for me. This time the vehicle was fine and I was able to drive above 20 MPH back to the dealership.

I got to the dealership and told the service department guy my situation. He said it was under thirty days so they would fix the problem and give me a rental for free. It ended up being a bad battery which was replaced. Now the vehicle works great. Vehicles now days are full of electronics and sensors, if one thing goes out or doesn't work then other stuff goes out.

Tahoe Z 71

  • Automatic transmission
  • 90,000 miles

I returned home from Tampa, Florida (a 7 hour drive one way), and parked my Tahoe in the front yard on level ground. I drove my other truck the next day or two, and when I got into the Tahoe a few days later, I realized it wouldn't start! I tried it everyday for a week, but no luck, even after talking to my mechanic on the phone. I finally had it towed to the shop, and once off the tow truck, it started right up for my mechanic! The gas level was fairly low, but not on E, and the light hadn't come on either. This recently happened AGAIN...after coming back from Birmingham(about a 4 hour drive one way) for Christmas, and now...3 days later, after parking it in the same spot, and again being semi-low on gas, I cannot get it to start...I plan on going to get some gas tomorrow, and trying to start it...even though it reads about 1/4 tank. Please let me know if you have any solutions...I have another trip in 3 days, and would really like to solve this problem!

My mechanic is baffled as well....and must think I am crazy by now! HELP!

Tahoe LT

  • 56,113 miles

I purchase my Tahoe on 09.19.06 and on 10.10.06 my vehicle engine would not turn over. On an attempt to start vehicle I noticed a symbol of a car pad locked flashing on the upper left hand corner of the dash. Nonetheless, my vehicle is at the Dealership--whose Service Department Sucks with a capitol S! I was initially told that whatever the problem maybe is not covered under warranty... However, as of 10.15.06, the Service Dept. is unsure as to what has caused my engine not to turn over..... I feel as though I am being taken for a ride. The Service staff members are extremely rude... I need advice ..... Please help

Tahoe V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 40,000 miles

I purchased my first brand new car, A 2003 Chevy Tahoe, and what a piece of CRAP. I have had nothing but problems with the steering going out within the first two years. Windows won't roll up or down. Now, the damn thing won't turn over. It acts like it's out of gas. Won't start!!! This was the biggest headache I ever gave myself. Incidentally, I have friends with the same vehicle telling me that they have encountered the same problems. I'm fed up with American cars. NO MORE!!
