2003 Tahoe- purchased used fair condition last year...
while driving one day last year, the "REDUCED ENGINE POWER" warning flashed and dinged while my truck came to a slow 15 mph crawl from 60 mph on the toll road.
I pulled over once I got off an exit into an autozone parking lot... the man put the diagnostic thing on it and it came back with something regarding the TPS...
he sold me one to put on for about 50 dollars.... suprisingly- the check engine light went off and it didnt do it again for some time...
then it became every day, multiple times a day.. the part that I was sold was for a Silverado- not a tahoe- so I didn't replace it anyway...
Usually it would be manageable by turning the truck off waiting and turning it back on. this soon became a problem where it would idle so low it would just cut off..
after being stranded i finally take it in, mechanic says needs a new throttle body and sensor. Fine..
I fork out the money and fix it.
truck runs great for about a month... low and behold as I am pulling out in the morning on my way to work- Ill be damned if this sh*t didn't do it again. I literally started crying. I drive 40 minutes each way to and from work.
it doesn't do it as frequently- usually just in the morning, but the fear of having this thing come to a creep crawl during rush hour traffic - scares me.
any suggestions at all? the internet seems to say that this is so common and there are dozens of "possible" solutions- but I cant afford to "experiment"
