Not enough for one of the fan speeds to be M.I.A. Now the drivers side a/c wants to be a heater. Definitely has a mind of it's own.

This is an ongoing, sporadic problem. Driving along with the A/C blowing then suddenly the driver's side vent are blowing SUPER hot! Passenger side still consistent with the selection made on the controller. The way to solve it temporarily is to turn the vehicle off and restart the engine. Usually the air will blow cold again after that.

while i am driving down the road with the AC on, out of no where the drivers side vents start blowing hot air. The passenger side is just fine, nice cool air. While I am melting over here. I try to shut off the unit/blower off now I don't have as much air flow but what is coming out is very hot. When I shut off the truck and restart it everything works fine for a few days???

what would make it have cold air on drivers side and hot on passengers side

Happens almost weekly and in FL can be very annoying when on the freeway and you have hot air blowing inside and its 90* outside. Replacing the auto temp control unit will likely not help although that is a common component that fails.
See my other post about finding a quality auto recycler for used parts with warranties and Car-part.com for finding parts/recyclers in your area. I'm not affiliated at all with the website but as an owner of an auto recycling company many customers, both commercial and individuals, use this for locating parts daily.
