Tahoe SW

  • Automatic transmission
  • 62,000 miles

I purchased a 2005 Chevy Tahoe on February 20, 2009. On July 27th the fan inside the vehicle continued to run after ignition was shut off. After disconnecting the battery and reconnecting the next day, the odometer reset to 99,000 and the speedometer stopped working. With so many people having this same problem, why do I have to come out of pocket with this. The dealership charged me $418.40 for the parts and $290.90 for the labor. That is $709.30 that I don't have right now. Is there something I can do to get a break. I don't mind paying, but I think I'm being taken advantage of because I'm a woman.

first of all i love my tahoe, the only problem ive had so far is the speedometer, i hope this will be a inexpensive repair, i havent checked it out yet. i have read about a lot of similar complaints. all in all this is a great vehicle, its still got the original brakes and tires on it. my question is do i replace the cable or the instrument cluster to fix this problem????

Tahoe LS 5.3L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 120,000 miles

Let's see......this is about the 20th problem I've had with my 05 Tahoe. So now the speedometer goes out yesterday - reads 80 mph at a standstill, and maxes out at regular highway speeds. Whether it's a cable or electronic, I'm sure they will bend me over to fix it.

Tahoe Z71 V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 58,000 miles

This is my second complaint. I have a 2005 Chevy Tahoe, Z71. While the vehicle is stopped the speedometer is showing around 30 mph. It comes and goes randomly. When the vehicle is moving, the speedometer adds 30 mph to actual speed. How much will this cost me? In all of my vehicles I have owned. I never seen this happen to a 2 year old vehicle. Is this a sign that I need to sell? Ironic that a Toyota 4 runner same year only has 1 complaint. I see why so many people are switching.
