The contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Tahoe. While driving 30 mph, the fuel gauge displayed half a tank when the fuel tank had just been filled. The contact noticed fuel leaking underneath the vehicle. An independent mechanic diagnosed that the fuel line was corroded and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 81,285. I had been smelling gasoline when standing outside the vehicle for a while. Took to repair shop who found gasoline on top of the tank. When tank was dropped, it was found that the top of the fuel pump as well as all the metal lines had rusted through and fuel was leaking out. Repair included new fuel lines and new fuel pump.
